Orange Your World 2023
The first Orange our neighbourhood day was held in Tembisa, sponsored by Sonke Gender Justice, where LOPECO in partnership with 16 Actors awardees, YANA embarked on a back-to-school campaign with an anti-bullying message and mechanism of help for the learners. Schools are a community safe haven for children who would face gruesome abuse at home, and this safe haven is interrupted by bullies and learners who themselves may be victims of domestic abuse.
Isekelo Primary : Learners
100 learners received the Orange Your World Diary and facilitators from You are Not Alone ( YANA), Lady of Peace Community Foundation (LOPECO) and the active 16 Actors divided themselves into 5 groups of 20 learners to promote the use of diaries allowing the learners to improve their handwriting and may improve their conduct at school. We believe with better communicators peace is only second nature, as peace is not the absence of conflict but merely the constructive resolution of dispute.
Orange Your World
The game incorporates the use of a journal and performance therapy.
Orange Your World
The initiative will introduce playing as a soft mechanism of dialogue to get pupils to express themselves and voice out their opinions with sensitivity to traumas that each may have.
YANA x LOPECO x 16 Actors
The Orange day initiative with its message "Orange the world", and going beyond 16 days inspired "Orange Your Neighborhood day" which is every 16th day of the month. Aligned with LOPECO's strength of localizing National initiatives we are reminding our local grass root communities that their neighbourhoods are a part of the world.
