The Lady of Peace Community Foundation (LOPECO) has concluded an extensive search initiated at the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children in 2023.

The primary objective of this search is to acknowledge, magnify, and express gratitude to individuals who contribute significantly to their communities. These are individuals who actively combat violence against women and girls, promote peace and  refuse to be bystanders.

Focusing on enhancing the meaningful involvement of young women in the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, the awards seek those engaged in combatting issues like gangsterism, xenophobia, and gender-based violence, and those involved in peace efforts during the 2021 July unrest. Nominees also include individuals working across all four pillars of the NAP on Women, Peace and Security within their communities.

The awards, a testament to the commitment to fostering a culture of peace, hope to encourage continued efforts for a more peaceful and just society.
